The keepin’ it REAL program represents over 30 years of research conducted by Dr. Michael L. Hecht and Dr. Michelle Miller-Day. Both Dr. Hecht and Miller-Day are nationally recognized researcher in drug abuse prevention, directing school and community-based drug abuse prevention research projects, and writing extensively on adolescent drug abuse and prevention

Developed collaboratively by Penn State University, Arizona State University, Chapman University, and schools around the country, the keepin’ it REAL programs are designed to teach youth how to live drug-free lives confidently, drawing on their personal strengths and the strengths of their families and communities.
